From what I understand, TF: TFMA was...I don't know. From what I understand, TF: TFMA was far outselling Wally's title even going by the numbers on the book when Waid and Johns were writing it. Even with the complaints from fans in regards to the writing or the events of IC #4, it seems a bit odd to cancel a new series starring a new version of an old character when it was outselling the previous title.

I also remember an interview with Bilson and DeMeo where they said they had the book planned out to #15 or so. I'm wondering if they knew what Bart Allen's final fate would be (because Dan Dido told them so) and refused to write it either because they didn't think they were capable (as writers) or because they wanted to keep him alive.Craig MacD.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08071554327560004181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31432079.post-90872741711185789292007-06-25T17:12:00.000-04:002007-06-25T17:12:00.000-04:00Apparently this whole thing (relaunching the serie...Apparently this whole thing (relaunching the series, etc.) has been in the works for a year or more, so Bart's death was planned before (or just after) the first issue hit stands. Strangely enough, I doubt sales were a factor in this as sales for The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #1 were extroardinarily high, particularly for a Flash comic. I think DC was just keen on killing Bart Allen so that they wouldn't have three superspeed kids (Bart, the West twins) running around the DCU at the same time.Craig MacD.https://www.blogger.com/profile/08071554327560004181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31432079.post-17415266475765837942007-06-25T13:10:00.000-04:002007-06-25T13:10:00.000-04:00Has anyone in DC explained why they killed Bart an...Has anyone in DC explained why they killed Bart and brought Wally back? Was it due to poor sales?

I'm glad that Wally is back, I always liked him. But why kill Bart, unless they are going to bring him back as Kid Flash in some comic book fashion, which is fine by me.The Times Observerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03077231848240709415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31432079.post-90359672914462563832007-06-24T17:30:00.000-04:002007-06-24T17:30:00.000-04:00Kelson's site "Those Who Ride the Lightning" has a...Kelson's site "Those Who Ride the Lightning" has a list (as well as images) of the Flash covers which have inspired homages to them. And astonishing though it may seem, Zeke, I don't know of any other homages. That makes the tribute in The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #13 all the more entertaining. (I do plan on posting a few special editions of Classic Covers spotlighting those covers that have inspired homages.)Dixonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11851711774731301585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31432079.post-50120780356854715352007-06-23T22:38:00.000-04:002007-06-23T22:38:00.000-04:00No question, that was one striking cover. (When I first saw this cover in the GREATEST FLASH STORIES collection, severely reduced and even harder to make out, I thought it was Wally standing over Barry.)

The homage in FLASH #13 was sheer fan candy; kudos to the artist. Do you know if there have there been any other homages to this cover? And who drew the original?

- ZZekehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15321348634649420236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31432079.post-90123144788339888312007-06-22T10:44:00.000-04:002007-06-22T10:44:00.000-04:00I collected the entire run of CoIE back in '90.......I collected the entire run of CoIE back in '90....from the Quarter Bin of my fave comic book store!
